The End Justifies the Means
The obvious end for the mainstream media is to get the President reelected in November. The propaganda tactics they use to reach that end will become increasingly desperate, intimidatingly disparate, and intensely devious the closer we get to election day and the more that they feel they need to help their candidate based on polls, events, or inadvertent truth-telling… ummmm… gaffes.
One such example is the recently shown video of Mitt Romney released by Mother Jones. After releasing a small, edited excerpt of the secretly recorded Romney fund raiser meeting in May, and a discussion of the 47% of Americans most likely not to vote for the GOP candidate under any circumstances, the magazine promised to release a full tape of Romney’s remarks.
Romney himself, challenged the magazine to release the full video, knowing full well that the complete context would not hurt him.
Now, it turns out that the magazine cannot deliver the full tape as promised. It seems the recording device "inadvertently" turned off at a crucial juncture of the discussion, resulting in an "Oops! We’re sorry." from Mother Jones and a missing 1 to 2 minutes of context.
The mainstream media ran with Romney’s comments all day. It was the lead story for their narrative. No matter that the narrative is coerced. What matters is the narrative. The damage has been done. The viewers and readers of those news outlets have been properly indoctrinated for another day. The screws on the rack of public opinion have been tightened another notch in the overt attempt to draw and quarter someone who is not The One.
This is not the first example of a media tall tale, nor will it be the last. It is not even the most egregious. It is simply the latest disgusting effort of a dinosaur press to write the story rather than to report the story.
Meanwhile, we have 23,000,000 Americans out of work 500,000+ more who have given up looking for work altogether, $16,000,000,000,000 in debt, $1,000,000,000,000+ annual deficit spending, an appeasement centered foreign policy that is blowing up in our faces and an administration all to willing to gut the Constitution to satisfy their big government take over of our freedoms and our lives. But we can’t talk about those things.
